| While Carol would prefer painting with artists' oil paints, for wall murals they use latex semi-gloss house paints and a few acrylics. Sometimes designs are painted directly freehand without being drawn first, but when necessary the composition is carefully drawn out and copied onto the wall by graphing or with an opaque projector. | |||||||||||||||||||||

At times the work can be physically demanding, finding one of them perched on top of a ladder or scaffolding. "Sometimes when I'm really into painting, I have to consciously remind myself of where I am." Carol says. Last year she met an artist who was recovering from two broken legs after a ladder accident. They don't advertise, but usually once or twice a year someone asks them to do a major project. And, Carol laments that she still hasn't managed the time to do the murals planned for her own home after moving into it 4 years ago! "One of these days!" |
