Noel's
quilts were found in the cedar chest of the old family farmhouse. The farmhouse
was built for the Creel family before the Civil War, at Holden, outside
of Bloomington, Ill. Edith Creel was born in that house, grew up to marry
Frank Martin, and later married Eric Payne, Noel's grandfather. The quilts
may or may not have been made by Edith, but they have now outlived the farmhouse.
Noel
doesn't quilt herself, but she sews up a storm with her custom costume
business. Check out http://www.
noelcostumier.com if you're in the mood for a Renaissance wedding.
