Romance is definitely in the air with this 37½" square wall hanging. Combine one or more of your favorite flowered fabrics with simple heart shapes in easy modern fusible appliqué that mimics the centuries' old technique of "broiderie perse" (French for Persian embroidery).
Fabric choices: Look for fabrics with flowers from ½ inch wide to 3½ inches wide. Try using more than one fabric to get a range of flower sizes and shades. Bugs, butterflies and fairies can also be added for just the right little zing, tucked among the flowers.
Figure one "clump" of flowers (one or two, sometimes three 2½" or 3½" flowers plus leaves and smaller flowers) per heart. Consider using sunflowers, morning glories, even daisies or hollyhocks as well as roses.
(Please note that Needlesongs does not stock fabrics).
